Reducing Total Ownership Cost Description: This workshop was specifically designed to provide practical techniques for implementing Department of Defense directives requiring most acquisition programs to prepare and implement plans for reducing total ownership costs. The workshop is based on a realistic case study of a non-major program. It works through a step by step application of a detailed methodology for analyzing the program, establishing baselines, identifying cost drivers, selecting cost reduction initiatives and completing the associated plan components. Participants will leave the workshop with a set of templates and a good example plan to follow. The workshop was piloted to the Services in December 1999, and been presented to members of all Services at sites across the United States. Who Should Attend?
